(6 December 2010) Coffey International Limited (“Coffey”) has expanded its footprint rapidly becoming a global consulting firm with more than 4000 staff in 80 different countries sparking the need for local content on its website.

Coffey provides specialist consulting services throughout Europe, the Middle East, Africa, the Americas and Asia Pacific providing a challenge in communicating information quickly across various languages. One of the ways Coffey has responded to this challenge is by adding localisation functionality to their website, coffey.com.

Localisation allows content to be tailored to the local region and provided in the local language. Based on users’ web browser settings, they will be seamlessly redirected to one of Coffey’s thirteen different regional sites all with a mix of region specific and global content. Twelve regional sites are already in operation with the African region due for release next week.

Coffey global marketing and communications manager Bernard O’Brien said clear and concise communications is one of the biggest issues a global specialist faces.

“We operate in some of the world’s most challenging and remote places across a diverse number of countries with different languages, customs, political and governance systems which makes communication a major challenge. This project enables Coffey to provide information that resonates with local communities, improving our ability to achieve good project outcomes.”

Mr Roger Olds, managing director of Coffey International Limited, reported communication as a key priority as Coffey continues to grow.

“Coffey has expanded from operating largely in Australia in 1996 to operating globally today and, as this continues to grow, so too does our focus on efficient client communications. In the last year alone we secured work in many new countries including Colombia, Mongolia and Oman. Communication is critical to effectively disseminate our specialist knowledge and this project is an important step forward in recognising this,” he said.
