Roger Olds

Managing Director

Roger has more than thirty years experience in engineering and management roles. Roger joined Coffey in 1979, working as a geotechnical engineer on various projects throughout Australia and abroad. He was appointed to the Board in 1995 and became Managing Director of the group in 1996.

As Managing Director, Roger is accountable for the overall performance and strategic direction of the Company.

During his time as Managing Director, Roger has focused on developing and implementing a growth strategy for the company. He has overseen the growth of Coffey from a specialist geotechnical engineering consulting company with revenue of $30m to a global multi-specialist business with revenue exceeding $500 million per annum.

Via a mix of organic and acquisition growth, the company has strategically evolved into a multi-specialist business consulting across a range of services, sectors and geographies with world renowned expertise in the delivery of social and physical infrastructure.

Roger holds a Bachelor of Engineering with 1st Class Honours, and a Diploma of Geotechnical Engineering. He is a Fellow of the Institution of Engineers Australia, a Chartered Professional Engineer, a member of the College of Civil Engineers, the Australian Geomechanics Society, the Association of Consulting Engineers Australia, the Built Environment Industry Innovation Council, and an Advisory Board Member of Environment Business Australia. Roger was selected as Monash University civil engineering alumnus of the year in 2006. He has also been named as one of Engineers Australia’s 100 most influential engineers each year since this programme commenced in 2005.
