Latest additions to our team
Coffey Rail in Melbourne has recently welcomed three key appointments that bring with them extensive railway experience and wide-ranging international expertise.

Andy Nicol joined as Principal, Rail Systems, arriving from UK where he acquired over 20 years experience as a technical leader in the railway industry. Andy’s past appointments included Technical Director of the European Rail Traffic Management System (ERTMS) Programme, where he led the deployment of Cab Signalling for the UK rail network. Previously he led the transport business for Detica, the UK’s leading independent technology consulting group. During his time with Detica Andy also worked as a consultant to the UK and European rail industries, advising on the implementation of new train control and telecommunications technologies including GSM-R and ETCS.

Andrew MacDonald joined as Project Manager and brings extensive experience and expertise in track and civil-related projects. He has worked within Australian railways on such projects as the Regional Fast Rail Project, and on large-scale UK projects including the East London Line Project, the Thameslink Reliability Strengthening Program, and the ongoing renewal of London Underground. Currently Andrew is working on projects including the Wimmera Regional Intermodal Freight Hub.

Jeremy Fink joined as Track and Civil Engineer, featuring particular expertise in civil design and design management. During his years within Australian railway industry Jeremy has worked on both large-scale rail projects such as the Craigieburn Stabling Yard Project, and on smaller civil infrastructure projects such as the Wimmera Regional Intermodal Freight Hub and Brighton Transport Hub in Tasmania.
