Coffey

Our History

Coffey Rail was formed by the amalgamation of two of Australia’s leading rail industry specialists: Asia Pacific Rail (APR) and Teal Management Services.

APR, established in 1992, was a rail engineering consultancy focused on the design, engineering and management of rail transport infrastructure. Founded by John Wertheimer AM, APR had specialist, experienced staff in the core engineering rail disciplines: track, civil, signalling and operations as well as project management. APR built a strong reputation as one of Australia’s leading rail consultancies over fifteen years and was purchased by Coffey International Limited in July 2007.

APR was Coffey’s first transport infrastructure acquisition.

Teal, established in 1995, specialised in the evaluation, planning and delivery of complex rail based infrastructure projects for rail operators and asset owners. Their talent for management at all levels gave them a reputation for first class results and guaranteed delivery.

Teal was purchased by Coffey International Limited in January 2008 and now forms the basis for Coffey Rail’s Sydney office.
