Dr Gervase Haimes PMP
Dr Gervase Haimes is a Senior Project Manager with Coffey Projects with a wide and varied background in project management, from an educator through to extensive practical experience with client, consultant and contracting organisations.
During his time at Coffey Projects, he has helped establish its professional development business to improve project management practices internally and externally.
He came to Coffey after a period in academia, where he completed his PhD in Organisational Culture & Identity and taught project management on the MSc (Project Management), the BAppSc (Construction Management & Economics) at Curtin University in Perth as well as on the MBA, Master of Oil & Gas and the Bachelor of Engineering (Civil & Resources) at the University of Western Australia.
Prior to this Gervase operated as an independent consultant on project control work principally for Main Roads WA, the Catholic Archdiocese of Perth and Pindan Construction and he also undertook contract management roles with Robe River Mining procuring and supervising green and brown field mining infrastructure work, as well as significant oil and gas projects for Woodside Petroleum and BHP Petroleum with SDR Construction.
Gervase also undertook various contract inspection and management roles with GHD (1983 –1992) principally on highway, dam and mining earthwork construction and helping develop their project management arm. Working for Shell UK (1976 – 1982), Gervase established project management as a recognised discipline in the organisation, working for client departments delivering projects as diverse as office fit outs through to oil terminal and aircraft hangar refits.
