Coffey Mining appoints new regional manager in Canada

(15 October 2008) Coffey Mining is pleased to announce the appointment of Norman Lock to the role of Regional Manager, Canada, commencing 10 November 2008.

Dr Lock will lead Coffey Mining’s operations in Canada as the business prepares to launch its presence in that market.

“A physical presence in North America is an essential part of our global strategy, and Norman will play a key role enabling us to deliver our specialist services to clients in that region” said Dan O’Toole, Coffey Mining chief executive officer.

Dr Lock has over 30 years of geological, mining and project management experience, with a strong focus on diamond geology and mining for public companies reporting, due diligence studies and valuations. Prior to joining Coffey Mining, he worked for companies including RSG Global and Botswana Diamondfields in Africa.

Dr Lock has a Bachelor of Science degree in Earth Sciences from Leeds University (United Kingdom) and a PhD (Letseng-la-Terae Kimberlites) from Sheffield University.

He will be based, initially, in Johannesburg prior to relocating to Coffey Mining’s new office in Toronto, where it will share facilities with sister company Coffey Geotechnics.
