Education is a foundation for social and economic development in all societies, and consequently, is an important pathway to eliminating poverty. Without it, people are prevented access to meaningful employment and participation in the economic life of their communities.
Access to education also underpins the success of other interventions in health and community development, private sector growth, environmental management and governance. It is important that both girls and boys have equal access to education – communities and economies develop and grow where education is available to all.
