Local Government and Decentralisation
Our work in this area has addressed issues of local government management and efficiency in service delivery, citizen participation, promotion of transparency and accountability and the strengthening of civil society. We have assisted governments in Europe, Latin America, Asia and Africa.
Coffey International Development has also addressed issues of ties between central governments, regions and municipalities to build more effective service delivery at the local level. In Indonesia, our donor work in Aceh focuses on provincial and district planning and delivery of education, as well as supporting effective governance overall through ensuring equity and inclusiveness, responsiveness and accountability. On behalf of USAID in Colombia, we are working to empower local and national governments and civil society to improve their ability to implement programs.
