Coffey’s health and safety – our governance and structures

At Coffey, commitment to health and safety is a priority at every level. Through our Board Risk Committee, health and safety is a key component of Coffey’s Corporate Governance Framework, ensuring we provide a safe workplace for employees, contractors and visitors.

Be Healthy and Safe is the first of our 10 core behaviours that are vital to delivering our vision. Coffey requires our employees and contractors to:

Ensure the wellbeing, safety and fitness for work of our people is our highest priority
Start each Coffey meeting with a Safety Share
Insist on a healthy and safe work environment for themselves and their co-workers.

Our Safety First culture and system is underpinned by our commitment to Operational Excellence. This functional approach, which allows us to drive the best client outcomes throughout our company, fully integrates HSSE, Risk and Quality Management in a mutually supportive way.

Coffey has, therefore, embedded a culture of continuous improvement, and risk attenuated safety decision making as a primary attribute of our health and safety system and programs.

Importantly, our global structure has safety embedded in every aspect of our operations, with the appropriate levels of accountability, systems and infrastructure. In addition, we have a regional Health, Safety, Security & Environment (HSSE) structure.
