GlobalQuest Projects 2010-2011

  • Victorian Bushfire Appeal:playground was donated to the Strath Creek community as a result of extensive community consultation on the priority projects identified in the bushfire recovery plan.
  • Oxfam Trailwalker: donation towards emergency relief work Oxfam provide in improving the lives of communities. A Coffey staff member joined a team of 3 others to walk for up to 100km over 48 hours.
  • MaeChan Children’s Home in Northern Thailand: donation for resources for the children’s home.
  • Ashford Special School in Adelaide: donation to provide 20 school hoodies to identify senior students.
  • Pakistan Floods: donations were made by staff from our offices around the world and from GlobalQuest to provide immediate and longer term assistance to flood victims, including the purchase of hygiene kits.
  • Yayasan Media Group Jakarta: donation for victims of Indonesia’s natural disasters (organised by local GlobalQuest committee in Jakarta).
  • Rotary Club, Ryde, Sydney: our Sydney offices held a raffle which GlobalQuest supported for the Rotary Club to purchase specific medical equipment needed by hospitals for ill children.
  • Manusher Jonno Foundation, Bangladesh: matching of $2 for every $1 raised by staff in Bangladesh and Adelaide to purchase blankets for the poor during winter.
  • Movember: matching of $2 for every $1 raised by staff in Australia to support programs in the fields of research, education, support, and awareness or prostate cancer and male depression.
  • Daisy’s Dream in UK: donation towards their work supporting children and their families facing or following a close bereavement.
  • Mentawai Islands Tsunami Relief Appeal: matching of $2 for every $1 raised by staff in Melbourne for the tsunami relief appeal. 
  • New Zealand Earthquake Relief Appeal: donation to Red Cross plus matching of $2 for every $1 raised by staff.
  • Japan Earthquake & Tsunami Relief Appeal: donation to Red Cross plus matching of $2 for every $1 raised by staff.
  • Queensland, Victoria & Western Australia Flood Relief Appeal: donation to Red Cross and Queensland Premier’s Disaster Relief Appeal plus matching of $2 for every $1 raised by staff.
  • Royal Society for the Blind (Australia): matching of $2 for every $1 raised by staff in Adelaide.
  • Spark International: funds for a leadership workshop for 35 leaders in PNG on communication, strategic planning, engaging a community, building and implementing a vision and being introduced to cutting edge social entrepreneurship concepts to help fight extreme poverty.

  • Support Association for the Women of Afghanistan (SAWA): computer training and equipment for 72 women to acquire sought after computing skills to help them find reliable employment in an area of high demand.
  • Mentawai Community Support Program: matching $2 for every $1 raised by staff in Melbourne to help Mentawai indigenous communities protect their right to maintain cultural identity.
