Worldpark has a Five Star Green Star Design For rating from the Green Building Council of Australia. The building has rated well in excess of the rating required to achieve this on the green energy scale. It is also designed to achieve Five Star NABERS energy rating. Coffey will be audited on an annual basis to ensure both ratings are maintained.
Worldpark is designed to provide large floor areas and plenty of natural light. Passive chilled beam air conditioning will save energy and costs while delivering fresher air at twice the rate recommended by Australian Standards.
Tanks for rain water and storm water collection, waterless urinals, and low-flow fixtures and fittings which assist in the water efficiency of the business park mean there is little demand on mains water supply.
The Worldpark site will be landscaped with Australian native plants and retention ponds.
Other green initiatives include:
- internal landscaping
- waste management systems
- use of recycled materials
- availability of showers and secure bike storage to encourage employees to cycle to work
- close proximity to public transport
